Homemade Seed Paper Valentine’s
We had so much fun making these simple seed paper hearts for Valentine’s Day this year.
We were glad to use some of the seeds we picked from our flowers this past summer.
You could easily use any kind of seed for this project and really isn’t limited to Valentine’s Day either.
Supplies we used:
Paper
Water
Blender
Large bowl
Parchment paper
Heart shaped cookie cutters
Baking Sheet
Cardboard
Scissors
Tags (printable)
Instructions:
Rip up paper into 1” strips and place into a big bowl. Add enough water so that each strip is soaked. Squeeze the paper until it is completely smooshed.
Add soggy paper into your blender. (yes, you read that right!) Pulse a few times until the paper is completely mush.
On a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, place the cookie cutter and fill with paper mush. Be sure to squeeze as much water out of the paper as you can.
Sprinkle flower seeds onto the wet paper and gently press them into the paper so they will stick.
Repeat until all of the paper is gone.
Place in a sunny spot over night or in a 170* oven for 1-2 hours until dry.
Print out tags and glue onto cardboard hearts.
Tags are a free pdf available for you to print.
I hope you have as much fun making these as we did!
